Paul Strophy
Paul was born and raised in Olympia, Washington. He attended St. Michael’s School, Jefferson Middle School and Capital High School, graduating in 1992. Paul went to the University of Washington and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. Paul graduated from Seattle University School of Law in 2006. Throughout his life, he has been heavily engaged in the community and been involved as a volunteer youth coach and high school coach, and in organizations like YMCA, Rotary, American Cancer Society and The Evergreen Playhouse.
Paul specializes in adult criminal and juvenile defense. He has represented clients and gone to trial involving the most serious charges (e.g., murder, rape, domestic violence), including recently (2017) convincing the prosecutor’s office to dismiss a case for a client facing a potential life sentence. Since 2013, Paul has regularly served as the private criminal defense bar representative on ad hoc and standing committees working with local judges and prosecutors to address issues involving the administration of criminal cases. Paul also handles cases in civil litigation, landlord/tenant, firearm rights restoration, and all issues pertaining to contracts and real property. Paul represents clients with cases in Thurston, Lewis, Mason, Pierce and Grays Harbor counties. Paul also regularly serves as a Judge Pro Tempore in Centralia and Olympia Municipal Courts.
