Mr. Rodgers served in the United States Army from 1970 to 1972, in between earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Washington and his Juris Doctorate law degree from the University of Oregon School of Law. Together with Richard L. Ditlevson, he founded our firm in 1978.

Mr. Rodgers was named a Super Lawyer by Washington Law & Politics in 2000 and 2007. He was also listed in the Who’s Who National Registry in 2002. He is peer review rated “AV” by Martindale-Hubbell. Mr. Rodgers is also former chairman of the Assigned Counsel Group for the Office of Assigned Counsel, which provides criminal defense services for indigent persons in the District, Juvenile and Superior Courts.

With the assistance of Sax Rodgers, Client successfully retained Professional License. A State department suspended Client’s professional license for five years, relying solely on a criminal conviction where the underlying facts were not related to Client’s license. A Thurston County Superior Court Judge upheld the suspension.  In zealously advocating for his client, Sax Rodgers appealed the suspension to the Court of Appeals.

After argument and briefing by Sax Rodgers, the Court of Appeals overturned the decision of the trial court, finding that the Client’s criminal conviction did not have a nexus with or relate to, his professional license and therefore the suspension was not justified. The State then sought review from the Washington State Supreme Court. After a briefing by Sax Rodgers and Megan Card on behalf of the Client, the Supreme Court denied review, thus upholding the decision of the Court of Appeals that the suspension of Client’s license was not justified.

Sax Rodgers settled a serious personal injury case in March of 2011 for $992,211.
