Community Outreach

Working to make a difference in more than just the law

The attorneys and staff at Budd Bay Law, P.S. firmly believe in giving back to our community.  Throughout the year, we participate in community service projects and volunteer our time to different organizations.  From local sports groups and non-profits to nationwide charities, we try to make a difference everywhere we can.

In 2018, Budd Bay Law, P.S. joined the City of Tumwater’s Adopt-a-Road Program. On a quarterly basis, we close the office early to clean up our adopted road (Tumwater Boulevard).  We believe it is important to work with our staff on volunteer projects outside of the office to encourage comradery and goodwill.

Every year the firm also sponsors a large family through the Salvation Army’s Adopt-a-Family program. This is a program where the sponsor is given a family’s Christmas wish list and does their best to give the family the best holiday they have ever had. Families are only eligible once for this program, so we make sure it is a memorable experience for them. Each employee is given the wish list of a family member and a budget of Budd Bay Law funds to use. Wrapping all of the presents and delivering them to the Salvation Army takes an entire day of work for our interns. The employees always enjoy sharing with each other what they purchased for their family member and the deals they scored. Supporting our staff in their love of giving back to the community brings joy to the shareholders of Budd Bay Law, P.S.

Giving Back to Our Roots

All four of the shareholders of Budd Bay Law cherish the Olympia area and seize opportunities to give back to the community they call home. Contributing to the community is Being able to contribute to the community

Megan D. Card and Brian Barnes grew up in Olympia and attended Black Hills High School and Olympia High School, respectively. Giving back to their community is a way of expressing gratitude for those who have helped them in their professional development.

Scott Kee has made Tumwater a home of 20 years for his children and enjoys volunteering with the Tumwater School District and local soccer clubs. Eric Pilon spent the later years of his childhood in the Pacific Northwest and loves the community he has found here.
